I think what some colleges are doing is a shot in the right direction, though the problem being is they should have started going in that direction the moment the internet grab wide spread hold. I know from sitting in Mr. Kates class he states that print will die out at least in the state that it is in now in the next few years. Though I think that it is prudent that student be taught new programs like Final Cut, Photoshop and others because as the print and all forms of journalism move towards the internet students will have to know these things or get left behind.
I think that if most colleges would have been on top of things, they could have pushed these new class outlines through and paved the way for a new wave of journalist(students) who are now strugling along with their professors in trying to find work in the outside world. I think its pretty scary to read that professors are looking for work just like their students

Essay Mills

I think essay mills are starting to become an active practice with students these days. I think this is happening because students; one, don't understand how to manage their time correctly, two, students don't want to write the essay, and three, get in over there heads with there studies by taking on more then they can handle.
Though I do believe with people believing they need to have perfect grades or perfect papers they will turn to these means of getting papers done more readily.

research topic

I don't quite know if this is where we are supposed to post our ideas for our paper,
but I was tossing around the idea of the new, news viral's/viewer created news and how that is changing how news is seen and show by major news networks and how it is being incorporated into their programming.
